Dubai-based Startup Lamsa Donates Subscription Fees In Ramadan To Feed Children In Need

The Dubai-based Arabic children's educational app has just launched Lamsat Kheir, in collaboration with Etisalat and Emirates Red Crescent, to distribute meals to children in need.

Lamsa, the Dubai-based edutainment app for Arab children launched a Ramadan campaign on June 5th to donate user subscription fees to provide meals for hundreds of orphaned children across the UAE. Titled Lamsat Kheir, the campaign runs throughout Ramadan in partnership with Etisalat, the Emirates Red Crescent, and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities.

"As a company, our dedication to social responsibility is even more heightened during Ramadan," says Badr Ward, CEO of Lamsa. "With every contribution that enriches the education of UAE children, we will help another child who is in need of care and attention. We believe that charity is a culture that must be instilled from childhood, so that future generations can fully realise their social responsibility down the line," he adds.

Named Best Children’s App in MENA by Google Play, and Digital Book App of the 2017 by Etisalat, Lamsa claims to be the largest educational app for children in the Arab world, delivering a range of interactive content, with input and oversight from early childhood education experts from Finland. This campaign is at the heart of Lamsa’s ongoing charitable programs that aim to provide education and food for those in need, laying the foundations for a better quality of life.

Through Lamsa's diverse content and the interactive experiences provided through the app serve in stimulating imagination, learning and creativity among the users. These interactive services form a core part of Lamsa’s vision to provide a reliable destination for children to learn, play and create in a fun and entertaining environment that is consistent with regional values. Lamsa has received numerous local, regional and international awards.
